Don’t be afraid to eat fruit! Fruit contains many of the vitamins and minerals our bodies need to function optimally. Not to mention, many fruits are high in fiber, creating bulk in the intestines and keeping us full and satisfied!
Many people fear the sugar found in fruit, but fruit comes with the enzymes necessary for our bodies to properly digest it.
Best fruits to eat? Berries, because they contain a high amount of antioxidants which act against free radicals.
Eat your fruit earlier in the day, as its sugar may create a blood sugar spike if eaten in the later afternoon, causing a decrease in energy as well as sugar cravings. If you are going to eat fruit all day long, try to eat the low-glycemic fruits later in the day (ie. apples, berries), and other fruits in the morning time (ie. bananas, cantaloupe).
Remember, fruit is a “whole food”. It’s healthy and should be eaten everyday!
